1979 HONDA CX500 RESTORATION
We're always delighted to hear from our readers, especially when they've used an Enthusiast's Restoration Manual to carry out a practical project.
A happy customer got in touch to let us know he'd used How to restore Honda CX500 & CX650 – YOUR step-by-step colour illustrated guide to complete restoration by Ricky Burns ...
"I purchased this manual by Ricky Burns and used it to completely renovate my 1979 Honda CX500. I am by no means a mechanic, just an enthusiast and had to strip the bike down to the frame to get welding & powder coating done as it was corroded and rusty. The manual was brilliant with a straightforward easy to understand approach & stacks of good photos, better than the workshop manuals available."
"Ricky's timing in bringing the book out was perfect for me. An excellent piece of work."
Nick Smedley. North Yorkshire, UK.

This is the story of a man, a team, and their life and times, as well as a complete record of all their achievements and failures. It logs the financial and personal cost of racing in the prewar and postwar periods. It tells of how the mighty car company Renault became involved with them in the late 1950s, and how Amedee Gordini became known throughout the world as one of the greatest engine tuners of his time.

A LASTING TRIBUTE TO HUGHIE HANCOX
Brand new Veloce book Triumph Production Testers’ Tales - from the Meriden Factory is reviewed in the December 2012 edition of Nacelle.
Long time Meriden worker and ace classic Triumph restorer, Hughie Hancox, describes everyday life in the Triumph Production Testing team from 1960 to 1962. A story packed with amusing anecdotes about the trials, tribulations and fun associated with testing Triumph motorcycles fresh from the production line. Includes guidance on fixing problems still found today on the 1960s models, plus previously unseen photographs of machines restored by the author. This is an intimate and entertaining account of Britain’s most famous motorcycle factory in its heyday. More info.
Sadly, Hughie Hancox passed away in August 2011 just after checking the proofs of this book.
